Shipping & Logistics Coordinator

My client is a growing specialist in the shipping and logistics industry. They work with clients that require knowledge and expertise, moving high quality and specialist goods globally. You will be working with the European transport team and their Fine Arts Division and will be responsible for managing Key Accounts from enquiry to delivery and installation of goods.

As the company deals extensively with European partners it would be ideal if you have worked in this area previously or have a second European language, French being most beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all area of the shipping process of fine arts and antiques across primarily across Europe
  • Liaising with overseas counter parts, private collector’s galleries, auction houses, artists and transport companies daily by phone and email
  • Guiding clients through the process, arranging collections, storage and shipments both domestic and internationally
  • Arranging specialist packaging services to ensure the secure transport of goods
  • Preparing all necessary paperwork and administration for method of transport including good and excise labelling, repots and customs clearance administration
  • Ensuring all payments due and invoicing is kept up-to-date and that any issues or delays are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Preparing operation reports detailing job completion and logging these onto internal freight management system
  • Keeping clients updated always in line with SLA’s and agreed delivery deadlines
  • Producing cost analysis report for European trunk runs
  • Managing key projects simultaneously for internal and external services ensuring scope of project information is correct and kept up-to-date including invoicing and management costs

Key skills and experience required:

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in a similar shipping role manging working with Fine Arts/Antiques
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple projects with a professional and calm manner
  • Numerate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Second European language highly advantageous (French preferable)
